I think every parent has heard the warnings about using plastic bottles that contain the chemical bisphenol-a. Whether you decide to head to the warning or not, Toy “R” Us is taking no chances.

Within the next year they will be pulling some plastic bottles off of their shelves by the end of the year. As a consumer it’s not easy to determine which bottles contain the chemical because it’s not found on labels. Prompting brands like BornFree and Adiri to market themselves as BPA-Free.

Walmart will also be removing all bottles with BPA by the end of 2009. Canada is already in the process of banning baby bottles containing BPA. The US has yet to issue ban, but it’s nice to know retailers are stepping up to the plate.
